The Lio & Associates team undertook a study for the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing to review the proposed changes to the model National Building Code and the model National Plumbing Code. This study consisted of two main parts. The first was the development of a public consultation package which aligned the National proposed changes with Ontario templates, wording, and references. The review consisted of proposed changes for Parts 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 9 of the OBC. The second part of the project included an examination of the impact and implications of adopting the proposed changes within the Ontario Code. The revised proposed changes were presented to the Ontario Ministry in the Spring of 2016, and will aid in the development of the next version of the Ontario Building Code.
